Reputedly haunted, this iconic building houses original Court Rooms, chilling Prison Cells, Holding Cells and eerie Catacombs which can be found beneath the very depths of this foreboding building. It is thought that many prisoners were left and forgotten to die, now remaining and haunting St Georges Hall for ever more….
Built on the site of the old infirmary, medical library and asylum and only a stone’s throw from Lime Street station, this is a building with a long and varied history.
St George’s Hall has been at the centre of the Liverpool’s celebrations and tribulations since it first opened in 1854.
It’s a building with unique character and history: the original design combined both the Town Council’s call for a new music hall, and government orders to build a new Assizes Court, making St George’s possibly the only civic building to host both music concerts and murder trials under one roof!
Many investigators have been drawn to this creepy location with reports of dark shadows in different areas within the building and reported sightings of at least 7 manifestations.
Intense poltergeist activity has been said to have been witnessed, as well as cold spots and huge temperature drops felt by many.
The ghostly apparition of a man has also been seen holding his head as if in anguish.
Much activity also comes from within the Catacombs and Tunnels that run beneath the building, including reports of a tall spirit man who has been heard screaming within the darkness at the end of the corridors down there.
